About JH

Hey folks.

I'm John Henry. I'm a guy in my early 40's born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I'm a father of an adult daughter, and a grandfather. I've played the drums since I was eight years old. I took a video class in high school, and am currently an undergraduate in Film, Video, and Media Communication at Western Michigan University.
Through my life as a musician, actor, father, and a lot of other things in between, I've spent a lifetime studying the ways people interact and communicate, how language can be - and is - used to manipulate public opinion for better or for worse.

As you can imagine...

...this means much of my work has a certain thematic tone to it. Some people would say I'm very liberal, but I've occasionally been accused of being conservative as well when I've made honest and uncomfortable assessments of "my side." But I'm not just about politics. There is a huge, beautiful world to be seen and experienced; knowledge to be gained from all corners.

The future

As I write this (Sept 2011), I'm beginning my second year of school. I am currently working out plans to attend school in Finland next year, return to the US to finish my Bachelor's degree, and then return to Finland for my Masters and Doctorate.

A living

My websites are the only steady work I have, and 99.5% of the income from them is via monetary contributions. There are links for that on every site. If you can't help with funding, please share my work. I've built in every possible tool to make it easy to share content from all of my sites, and the more people visit, the more greater chance to push, pull, drive, educate more people toward a more loving and evolved state of existence.
Because that's good for everybody.

So What's This, Then?

LowGenius.Com is the central hub for All Things LowGenius. From here you can find all my blogs, other sites where I contribute, my social media links, and original content not suitable for blogs, including media reviews, video game mods, link lists, and whatever else I feel like adding over time.

The LowGenius Network

The LowGenius Network currently consists of three separate websites owned by JH, plus other websites and blogs where JH contributes content and information. Additionally JH maintains a presence on many social media platforms.

LowGenius.Com Blog - this is where I blog about personal events, site news, and other things that aren't political or school-related.
LowGenius.Net - Social, media, and political analysis and commentary, mostly accompanied by videos. If you are into the "forbidden" topics - politics, religion, social issues, sex, the environment, etc., this is where you want to look
40YearOldFreshman.Com - This is where I write about my experiences starting college at age 40. At the time of this writing, most of the content currently available there is writing and presentations for class, but I intend to get more into observational writing.
